Dak Prescott has had quite the journey from being a late fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to becoming the highest-paid quarterback in history. Despite facing setbacks early in his career due to a DUI arrest, Prescott never lost sight of his dream to play for the Dallas Cowboys.
In a recent interview with NBC, Prescott recalled the moment he was drafted and how it fueled his determination to prove himself in the league. He admitted feeling anxious and frustrated when he wasn’t selected until the fourth round, but that only motivated him to work harder and prove his worth.
One person who never doubted Prescott’s abilities was his father, Nathaniel Prescott. A diehard Cowboys fan himself, Prescott’s father was overjoyed when his son was drafted by his favorite team. He proudly wears Prescott’s jersey every Sunday and continues to support him every step of the way.
Unfortunately, Prescott’s season came to an abrupt end when he suffered a partially torn hamstring injury during a game against the Falcons. Despite consulting specialists in New York, surgery was deemed necessary, ruling him out for the remainder of the season. Backup quarterbacks Cooper Rush and Trey Lance will now have to step up and lead the Cowboys through the rest of the challenging season.
Although Prescott’s season may have ended prematurely, his resilience and determination are unwavering. As he looks towards his recovery and the future, one thing is certain – Dak Prescott will continue to fight for his dreams and prove himself as one of the best in the league.
