Legendary game show host Chuck Woolery, known for being the original host of “Wheel of Fortune,” has tragically passed away. TMZ has confirmed this heartbreaking news.

Chuck Woolery’s close friend and podcast cohost, Mark Young, revealed that he was with Chuck at his home in Texas when Chuck mentioned feeling unwell and went to rest. Shortly after, he experienced difficulty breathing, prompting a call to 911, but unfortunately, Woolery did not survive.

Fans of game shows will remember Chuck Woolery for his iconic work, particularly as the host of “Wheel of Fortune” from 1975 to 1981. After departing from the show due to a salary dispute, Pat Sajak took over the hosting duties. Woolery went on to host other popular shows such as “Love Connection,” “Scrabble,” and a revival of “The Dating Game.”

Throughout his career, Woolery made cameo appearances as himself in various TV shows, including the movie “Cold Feet” and sitcoms like “227” and “Scrubs.” Additionally, he dabbled in music, primarily in the country genre.

In a recent video interview from 2016, Chuck Woolery shared insights into the game show world, showcasing his passion for the industry. He leaves behind his wife Kim and their children, Katherine, Melissa, Michael, and Sean. Chuck Woolery was 83 years old at the time of his passing.

The entertainment industry mourns the loss of a true legend. Rest in peace, Chuck Woolery.
