Federal agents have made a significant breakthrough in apprehending individuals on the terrorist watchlist at the northern U.S. border. One notable arrest includes Jordanian national Mohammad Hasan Abdellatif Albana, 41, who was recently removed from the country after illegally entering from Canada.

Albana was apprehended near Lynden, Washington, just a few miles from the Canadian border. He had entered the U.S. without proper authorization and was considered a security risk, prompting his removal to Jordan by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

According to CBP data, Albana is one of 44 individuals arrested this fiscal year as known or suspected terrorists at the northern border. This number far surpasses the 8 KSTs apprehended at the southwest border during the same period.

It is concerning to note that the northern border has seen a greater number of KST apprehensions under the Biden administration, with a total of 1,216 individuals detained. This highlights the need for enhanced security measures along the U.S.-Canada border.

Despite claims of a secure border, the northern frontier lacks the infrastructure and manpower seen at the U.S.-Mexico border. This poses a national security risk, especially with the increasing number of KSTs attempting illegal entry into the country.

Former border czar Tom Homan has emphasized the importance of securing both the northern and southwest borders to prevent further security breaches. The Trump administration aims to address these vulnerabilities and bolster border protection efforts.
