The 2024 U.S. election may have been seen as a setback for climate regulation, but the fight is far from over. A recent survey conducted by the United Nations Development Program revealed that the majority of voters worldwide are in favor of stronger environmental regulations. In fact, four out of five people (80 percent) are calling for more action to address climate change in their respective countries.

Moreover, there is a growing consensus for global cooperation to combat the climate crisis, with 86 percent of respondents agreeing that countries should put aside their geopolitical differences and work together on climate change. This sentiment is echoed across the world’s biggest greenhouse gas emitters, with significant support for stronger climate action in countries like the United States, Russia, Germany, China, South Africa, India, Brazil, Iran, and Italy.

In light of these findings, it is clear that there is a strong mandate from the global population for governments to take decisive action on climate change. While the outcome of the 2024 election may have been disappointing for some, it is essential to remember that the fight for a sustainable future is a collective effort that transcends national borders.

One way to inspire others to join the movement for climate action is by sharing We Earthling posters, which showcase stories of individuals and communities taking positive steps towards a greener future. By amplifying these voices and spreading awareness about the urgency of the climate crisis, we can build momentum for change and push governments to prioritize environmental sustainability in their policies and actions.
