The ex-wife of NHL star Evander Kane accuses Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of sexual assault
Anna Kane, who was married to the Edmonton Oilers forward from 2018 to 2021, has come forward as one of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ earliest sexual assault accusers. She revealed her identity on Friday as the fourth woman to accuse the rapper of sexually assaulting her at his NYC recording studio when she was a teenager.
Kane initially filed a lawsuit against Combs in December 2023 under the pseudonym Jane Doe, but her name was later included in the suit as per a court order.
She stated, “I had hoped to use a pseudonym in pursuing justice for what happened to me as a teenager,” in a statement to Page Six through her attorney Douglas Wigdor.
Allegations and Lawsuit Details
Kane accused Combs, his longtime lieutenant Harve Pierre, and an unidentified individual of drugging and raping her when she was 17 years old. The lawsuit alleges that the assault took place at Combs’ recording studio in New York City.
The suit describes a harrowing ordeal where Kane was forced into sexual acts by the three men after being given drugs and alcohol. The complaint details the traumatic events that occurred during the night of the assault.
Combs’ Response and Legal Proceedings
Combs vehemently denied the allegations in a statement released through his representative, stating, “I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”
Kane’s lawsuit seeks unspecified damages under the Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law, allowing victims of abuse in the city to bring forth old claims even if they are outside the statute of limitations.
Current Status
Combs is currently incarcerated in a federal prison in Brooklyn after a judge denied his bail request. He faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution.
Anna Kane and Evander Kane divorced in 2021 amidst allegations of gambling addiction and game-fixing. Evander Kane was cleared of wrongdoing after an NHL investigation.
