An individual taken into custody in relation to the murder of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO was discovered with a three-page manifesto suggesting a negative attitude towards corporate America, as stated by authorities during a press conference on Monday.

Luigi Mangione, aged 26, was identified by the New York Police Department as a significant person of interest in the fatal assault on Brian Thompson outside a hotel in New York City on Dec. 4.

Following Mangione’s arrest on firearms charges by local police in Altoona, Pennsylvania, approximately 230 miles away from the crime scene, it was revealed that he was in possession of a homemade weapon resembling the one used in the crime, along with a fake ID and a handwritten document detailing his motives and mindset, according to New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

During the press briefing, Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny was questioned about the contents of the document and whether it mentioned Thompson or any other individuals.

Kenny informed reporters: “Although there are no specific threats towards other individuals mentioned in the document, it does indicate his hostility towards corporate America.”

Kenny also mentioned that he was unsure if the document had been shared online.

The bullets recovered from the crime scene where Thompson was murdered were engraved with the words “delay,” “deny,” and potentially “depose.”

These words closely resemble the phrase “delay, deny, defend,” which is often associated with insurance companies allegedly denying services and payments. It is also the title of a critical 2010 book about the industry.
