The Pentagon held a press briefing on Wednesday to address the ongoing mystery of drones flying over New Jersey and other parts of the northeast U.S. The Pentagon stated that they have no evidence to suggest that these drones are of foreign origin or that they belong to the U.S. military. This statement comes after a U.S. Congressional hearing where lawmakers expressed frustration over the lack of information and response to the drone activity.

During the hearing, the FBI informed lawmakers that they are working with state and local authorities to investigate the situation, but they have received over 3,000 reports of sightings from the public and have yet to determine who is responsible. It was also revealed that the FBI’s budget for counter-drone activity is only around $500,000.

The Federal Aviation Administration had previously banned drone flights in parts of New Jersey in response to drones flying over sensitive areas such as the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster and the Picatinny Arsenal military research facility. Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh stated in the briefing that the drones are unlikely to be from a foreign adversary and are not U.S. military drones.

Despite speculation and theories about the origin of the drones, including claims of them being part of a secret military program or even UFOs, Singh dismissed these ideas. She also refuted a theory suggesting that Iranian drones were being launched from a “mothership” off the coast of the U.S.

The investigation into the drones continues, with concerns mounting over the impact on local residents and even emergency services. The Pentagon is now tasked with regularly investigating reports of UAPs (UFOs) as the use of drones becomes more widespread in consumer and commercial settings.

As the investigation progresses, it may be revealed that some of the reported sightings are actually drones or small airplanes. The mystery of the drones remains unsolved, leaving local residents and officials alike on edge about the unknown intentions behind these airborne intruders.
