In the latest Christmas-themed two-parter of “Ghosts,” there’s a standout moment where Rose McIver’s character, Sam, is taken over by the spirited Nancy, played by Betsy Sodaro. McIver shared her excitement about embodying Nancy and praised Sodaro for her guidance and generosity in preparing for the role. The episode, titled “A Very Arondekar Christmas,” sees Sam trying to impress Jay’s parents, Mahesh and Champa, with Nancy’s antics leading to unexpected outcomes.

Despite initial reservations, Champa starts to bond with Nancy-as-Sam, adding a comedic twist to the family dynamics. McIver highlighted the talented cast members, especially Sakina Jaffrey, who plays Champa, and praised the show’s creative direction in bringing the characters to life. The episode also marks a significant moment for Jay, who experiences an out-of-body experience, interacting with the ghosts in a surreal manner.

McIver teased her upcoming directorial debut on an episode focusing on Pete’s backstory, expressing gratitude for the opportunity provided by “Ghosts.” She acknowledged the show as a well-oiled machine and praised the supportive environment that allowed her to explore her directing skills. Drawing from her past experience in the industry, McIver emphasized her commitment to pursuing directing opportunities in the future.

Having laid the groundwork for directing through workshops and previous roles, McIver is eager to continue honing her skills behind the camera. She expressed gratitude to the network, showrunners, and cast for their support and encouragement in her directorial journey. As she looks forward to her episode airing later in the season, McIver is excited about the creative possibilities that lie ahead in her directing career.
