Kim Kardashian, the reality TV star and Skims co-founder, surprised fans by releasing a cover of Eartha Kitt’s classic “Santa Baby” just in time for Christmas. The 44-year-old star teamed up with her brother-in-law, Travis Barker, who is married to Kim’s older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, for the production of the cover. The song was released through Barker’s record label, DTA Records, and Kim’s own Kimsaprincess, Inc.
Accompanying the release of the song, Kim also dropped a visually striking music video. The dystopian video features Kim in a blond wig crawling on all fours with money scattered on the floor, surrounded by an eclectic cast of characters celebrating a dark Christmas. The video concludes with an unexpected appearance by Macaulay Culkin, known for his role in the holiday classic “Home Alone,” portraying a creepy Santa holding a video camera.
Sharing the news on social media, Kim credited the music video to directors Nadia Lee Cohen and Charlie Denis, and the song production to Travis Barker. This Christmas cover marks Kim’s return to the music scene after her debut track “Jam (Turn It Up)” in 2011, produced by The-Dream. Despite her previous musical endeavors, Kim expressed regret during an interview in 2014, stating that she did not believe she had the talent to pursue a singing career.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Kim has been expanding her presence in Hollywood. She is currently filming a legal drama series created by Ryan Murphy for Hulu titled “All’s Fair,” alongside a star-studded cast including Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, and Glenn Close. Furthermore, Kim is set to star in and produce a comedy for Netflix called “The Fifth Wheel.”
Sarah Paulson, one of Kim’s co-stars in the upcoming legal drama, praised Kim’s work ethic and presence on set, highlighting her enthusiasm and commitment to the projects. With her return to music and flourishing acting career, Kim Kardashian continues to make waves in the entertainment industry, showcasing her versatility and determination in pursuing her passions.
