President Trump Seeks Supreme Court Delay on TikTok Ban

President-elect Donald Trump has requested the Supreme Court to postpone a law that would effectively ban TikTok until after he assumes office. Trump’s lawyer, John Sauer, argued that the issue could be resolved through political means rather than a ban.

According to Sauer, “President Trump possesses the dealmaking expertise and political will to negotiate a resolution to save the platform while addressing national security concerns. He opposes banning TikTok in the US at this time and aims to resolve the issues through political means once he takes office.”

The Chinese company ByteDance had been instructed to divest TikTok or face a ban in the US under a law signed by President Biden earlier this year.
