A Denver man, Bryant Jay Beecher, is being sought by Aurora investigators in connection to a July shooting that resulted in one fatality and another individual being hospitalized, the Aurora Police Department announced.
An arrest warrant was issued for Beecher earlier this month on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Despite the warrant, Beecher has not yet been apprehended.
The incident took place at the Abrigo Apartments in the 12100 block of East 30th Avenue, where two unrelated suspects entered the premises and shot both victims. 57-year-old Fred Willis of Aurora succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while a 46-year-old man, who remains unidentified, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and survived.
John Edwards, the second suspect in the shooting, was arrested in Texas in September and has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Edwards is currently in custody in Adams County on a $1.25 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 17.
Anyone with information on Bryant Jay Beecher’s whereabouts is urged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
