A tragic incident occurred in South Korea on Sunday when a Boeing passenger jet crashed, resulting in the deaths of dozens of people. The authorities have attributed the crash to a failure of the landing gear.

The Boeing 737, which was en route from Thailand, veered off the runway at Muan International Airport around 9 AM local time. Distressing video footage captured at the scene shows the plane sliding across the asphalt, unable to come to a stop before colliding with what appears to be a wall and erupting into flames.

Reports indicate that a total of 181 individuals, including 175 passengers and six crew members, were on board the ill-fated flight. As of now, at least 62 people have been confirmed dead, with rescuers continuing their efforts to locate survivors. Tragically, the death toll is expected to rise as the search and rescue operation progresses.

Despite the grim circumstances, there have been reports of at least two individuals being rescued from the wreckage. The incident has shocked the aviation community and raised questions about the safety protocols and procedures in place.

According to CNN, South Korean officials have identified a landing gear malfunction as the primary cause of the crash. The video footage of the incident clearly shows the aircraft sliding on its underbelly, with no landing gear visible beneath it.

As investigations into the crash continue, more details are expected to emerge. This is a developing story, and our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. Stay tuned for updates as the situation unfolds.
