A Bronx Musician Known as P. Fluid Found Murdered in Ambulette

A Bronx driver was tragically found murdered inside a private ambulette on Monday, revealing a shocking twist in the life of Peter Forrest, a pioneering musician known as P. Fluid. The 64-year-old was discovered lying face-down in a pool of blood inside the bus parked on Castle Hill Avenue, showing signs of trauma.

Under his pseudonym P. Fluid, Forrest was a part of the original lineup of South Bronx-based band 24-7 Spyz. The group, known for mixing metal, hardcore, punk, and funk, even had the opportunity to open for Grammy Award-nominated rock band Jane’s Addiction on their Ritual de lo Habitual tour.

His former girlfriend, Chiedza Makonnen, described Forrest as her first love and a founding member of the Black Rock Coalition. The pair met in Harlem, where they quickly established a relationship that lasted for years. Makonnen shared that Forrest’s dedication to advancing Black rock was evident in his music and touring commitments.

After departing from 24-7 Spyz, Forrest formed P.Fluid and the P.Fluid Foundation before rejoining the band temporarily and eventually creating his solo project, BlkVampires. Alongside his musical endeavors, Forrest was also a proud veteran.

At the time of his murder, Forrest was working for Long Island-based firm Marquis Ambulette and residing in Allerton. Colleagues discovered his body in the ambulette on Castle Hill Avenue, prompting authorities to investigate the case as a homicide.

Despite the tragic turn of events, Makonnen expressed shock over Forrest’s death, emphasizing his peaceful nature and love for music. She recalled him as a good person who had a passion for the industry and never engaged in conflicts.
