New Delhi:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that progress in the Gaza war ceasefire framework is dependent on receiving the list of hostages Hamas will release. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel will not tolerate any violations of the agreement and holds Hamas solely responsible. He also mentioned Israel’s right to resume war if necessary, with the support of the United States, to ensure the safe return of all hostages.

As the ceasefire is set to commence, Israel’s cabinet has approved the truce and the agreement for the release of hostages. However, Israeli strikes on Gaza have continued despite the mediation efforts of Qatar, the US, and Egypt.

In a recent incident, a strike in southern Gaza resulted in the tragic death of five family members. The conflict between Hamas and Israel has caused significant casualties on both sides, with an exchange of prisoners being a crucial component of previous truce agreements.

Qatar’s Prime Minister confirmed that the ceasefire would involve the release of 33 hostages by Gaza militants, marking a significant step towards peace in the region.

The ceasefire coincides with the upcoming inauguration of the US President for a second term. The conflict, triggered by Hamas’s attack on Israel, has led to devastating consequences for both Palestinian and Israeli civilians.

Despite the challenges and losses, efforts towards peace and resolution remain ongoing, with hopes for a lasting ceasefire and eventual reconciliation.
