An ex-convict has been accused of a heinous crime involving the murder of a man who had impregnated his wife while he was serving time in prison. The victim, Ulisys “Cesar” Molina, was strangled and decapitated by Anthony Newton, who is now facing potential death penalty charges for the gruesome act.

The brutal murder took place in 2017, and Molina’s dismembered and burned body was discovered in a vacant lot outside Las Vegas after his family reported him missing. Newton, along with his brother-in-law and another woman, allegedly lured Molina into the woman’s apartment around Christmas 2016 and carried out the killing in retaliation for the affair between Molina and Newton’s wife.

One of the most chilling aspects of the case was the discovery of one of Molina’s severed hands in a mailbox by a 5-year-old child almost two years after the murder. The whereabouts of Molina’s head and other hand remain unknown, adding to the mystery surrounding the gruesome crime.

The trial for Newton’s involvement in the murder was initially declared a mistrial in November due to a co-defendant revealing Newton’s previous prison term to jurors. Newton’s wife, Jami Malaperdas, had engaged in an affair with Molina while Newton was incarcerated, resulting in a pregnancy that was terminated through an abortion.

The motive behind the murder seems to stem from the betrayal and infidelity within Newton’s marriage, leading to a tragic and violent outcome. As the trial proceeds, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the events that led to such a horrific crime.

The case serves as a reminder of the dark consequences that can arise from jealousy, revenge, and unresolved conflicts. The legal proceedings are set to continue for approximately three weeks, during which more evidence and testimonies will be presented to determine Newton’s fate in this chilling murder case.
