Jeremiah Trotter Sr., a former Philadelphia Eagles great, is feeling emotional as his son, Jeremiah Jr., gears up to play in the Super Bowl for the first time. In an interview with TMZ Sports, Trotter Sr. expressed how proud his late wife, Tammi, would be of their son’s accomplishment.

As he watches Trotter Jr. take the field in the same jersey he once wore, Trotter Sr. admits that the nerves he feels now are far greater than any he experienced during his own playing days. “When I played, I could control certain aspects of the game, but when you’re watching your kids play, it’s all on them. So you definitely get more nervous,” he said.

The impact of Tammi’s passing in early 2023 is still deeply felt by the Trotter family. Trotter Sr. shared, “Her memory lives on through us, and through Jeremiah, especially Jeremiah because he looks just like her.” He added, “Out of all of my kids, he looks the most like her. So every time I look at him, I see her. I know she would be extremely proud of him.”

Despite the emotional journey, Trotter Sr. is excited for Trotter Jr.’s Super Bowl opportunity and hopes for a win not just for his son, but for the team and the city. He advised his son to cherish the moment, as Super Bowl appearances are never guaranteed.

Trotter Sr. also mentioned his longstanding relationship with Chiefs coach Andy Reid, but on game day, he’ll be rooting for his son’s team. As the Super Bowl approaches, the Trotter family is united in honoring Tammi’s memory and supporting Jeremiah Jr. in his momentous achievement.
