Denver authorities are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a carjacking incident where the car’s owner was run over and left injured, officials reported.

Police were called to the scene of a hit-and-run collision at around 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of East Elmendorf Drive and North Yampa Street. The pedestrian involved was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, according to the Denver Police Department.

Further investigation revealed that the pedestrian was the actual owner of the car and was struck by the thief while attempting to escape.

Law enforcement is currently seeking the stolen vehicle, described as a gray 2023 Dodge Challenger Coupe with Colorado license plate EPDU51, as per a Medina Alert issued by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

If anyone spots the car, they are urged to contact 911 or the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000.
