A Missouri mother, Taylor Santiago, shocked the community with a gruesome two-state murder spree that left two people dead and one injured. Santiago allegedly gunned down her estranged husband, Troy Huffman, at her home in Aurora, Missouri, before driving to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, to shoot her ex-boyfriend, Nathan Green, and his new girlfriend, Sophia Williams.

The 31-year-old mom reportedly planned the killings while grabbing coffee at a local general store in Aurora. Enraged by child custody battles with both dads, Santiago invited Huffman to her home under false pretenses, telling their 12-year-old son to cover his ears because she was going to “take care of the bad guys.” She then shot Huffman with a .38 revolver, dragging his body to steal his car and leaving one of her children behind at the scene.

Santiago then drove to Arkansas and shot Green and Williams, who had recently been awarded custody of Green’s daughter. Williams tragically died at the scene, while Green was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Santiago believed she had killed three people and turned herself in to authorities in Aurora.

Charged with murder, robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of children, Santiago could face the death penalty if convicted. Williams’ sister, Calista Abernathy, expressed her belief that Santiago deserves such a punishment, referring to her as a “monster” who took lives and left children without parents.

Chief Wes Coatney speculated that custody battles with both men likely motivated Santiago to commit the murders. Despite the tragic events, he expressed relief that Santiago turned herself in and wished she had sought help before resorting to violence.
