Kanye West recently revealed the reason why he decided to skip Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration. According to Ye, he had initially planned to attend the event, but he was asked to write a second apology for his past antisemitic comments. Feeling like he was being censored, Kanye opted to skip the inauguration altogether.

The Grammy-winning artist opened up about his decision during a post-Grammys after-party with Justin LaBoy. Ye joked about not even knowing the term “antisemitic” and expressed his frustration at being asked for another apology. The conversation between Kanye and Justin was featured on Justin’s popular podcast, which hasn’t been released yet. However, TMZ was able to obtain footage from the event showing Kanye proudly watching the clip.

During the podcast, Kanye and Justin also discussed the ongoing beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Kanye sided with Kendrick, declaring him the winner in the feud. However, Kanye also gave credit to Drake, comparing him to basketball star Steph Curry and acknowledging his long-term impact on the music industry.

Kanye went on to praise Kendrick for elevating the frequency of rap music and claimed that he is the only one who could beat Kendrick in a rap battle. The conversation touched on various topics, including the cultural significance of both artists in the music industry.

At the party, Kanye was joined by The Game, Will.i.am, John Monopoly, and Jim Jones. Kanye took the opportunity to hype up Justin LaBoy’s podcast, likening him to the culture’s Joe Rogan. He also announced that his new album, titled “Bully,” is set to be released on June 15, coinciding with his daughter North West’s birthday.

Overall, Kanye’s decision to skip Trump’s inauguration was a result of feeling censored and pressured to apologize for past comments. His conversation with Justin LaBoy shed light on his thoughts on the music industry and his upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated album “Bully.”
