Kanye West made another bold move during the Super Bowl by purchasing a local TV ad to promote his Yeezy fashion brand. This time, viewers in Los Angeles had the opportunity to see the lo-fi ad, which West revealed was shot using an iPhone. The ad directed viewers to visit yeezy.com for more information.
In the ad, West appeared to be sitting in a dentist’s chair, which may be a subtle reference to claims made by his ex-chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, about a celebrity dentist allegedly getting West hooked on nitrous in an attempt to exploit him financially. Yiannopoulos even shared screenshots of group texts with West and the dentist, where the rapper requested nitrous and the dentist complied.
This latest ad comes amidst controversy for West, as he faced backlash from the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee for posting an antisemitic rant online. In the posts, West referred to himself as a Nazi, praised Hitler, and made derogatory remarks about Jewish people. Despite the backlash, West refused to apologize for his comments.
Outside the Grammys, West’s wife, Bianca Censori, made headlines by removing her fur coat to reveal a see-through slip, leaving her completely nude for the cameras. This provocative act further added to the couple’s reputation for garnering attention in the media.
Last year, West also bought a local ad for yeezy.com during the Super Bowl, although it did not air in major markets like New York or Los Angeles. The rapper’s unconventional marketing tactics continue to generate buzz and controversy, solidifying his reputation as a polarizing figure in the entertainment industry.
Overall, Kanye West’s latest TV ad during the Super Bowl showcased his unique approach to promoting his fashion brand, Yeezy. Despite facing criticism for his controversial statements and actions, West remains unapologetic and continues to push boundaries in both his music and business ventures. (Steven J.
