Non-Partisan Data Analysts Call for Investigation into Pennsylvaniaâs Ballot-Counting System

A group of non-partisan data analysts known as the Election Truth Alliance is urging for an investigation into Pennsylvaniaâs ballot-counting system. This call for scrutiny comes after former President Donald Trump praised Elon Musk for his alleged work on the stateâs ballot-counting machines.
According to a statement from ETA:
The Election Truth Alliance (ETA) is advocating for increased transparency around the 2024 U.S. Presidential election results in the state of Pennsylvania.

âThe specific reference to âvote-counting computersâ in this context is concerning,â says Nathan Taylor, ETA Executive Director of Advocacy and Public Engagement. âVote tabulators are essentially ballot-counting machines and are a critical part of Americaâs election infrastructure. Some are built-in, and others are stand-alone systems. Tabulators can scan and interpret ballots, store ballot images, and add vote totals. If tabulators have been compromised, we have a huge problem with the integrity of our elections.â

The organization is calling on local and state officials to initiate an investigation, including potential hand audits of paper ballots, in order to safeguard the integrity of future elections and to ensure that Pennsylvanians’ constitutional right to vote was upheld.
It is essential to instigate an investigation into the ballot counting machines to enhance public confidence in the electoral process. If the investigation reveals no irregularities, it will further solidify trust in Pennsylvaniaâs elections. Given Trumpâs history of casting doubt on the stateâs elections, he should also welcome such an inquiry.
While manipulating ballot tabulating machines may be challenging, the presence of seven different voting systems in Pennsylvania with a complete paper trail for each election adds an extra layer of security. However, Trumpâs remarks do raise concerns, and given his criminal convictions, it is prudent to verify the tabulations independently.
