Prime Video is gearing up to add another exciting original series to its Indian lineup with “Dupahiya,” a captivating heartland comedy that combines small-town charm with a quirky caper.
The nine-episode series, produced by Bombay Film Cartel, tells the story of the chaos that ensues in the fictional village of Dhadakpur when a prized motorcycle goes missing just as the community is preparing to celebrate 25 years of being crime-free. The title “Dupahiya” translates to “two-wheeler” in Hindi, setting the tone for the fun and mischief that unfolds.
Directed by Sonam Nair, the series features a talented ensemble cast including veteran actors Gajraj Rao and Renuka Shahane, as well as emerging stars Bhuvan Arora, Sparsh Shrivastava, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashpal Sharma.
Creators and executive producers Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani, from Bombay Film Cartel, have crafted a script that beautifully blends humor, heart, and the essence of small-town India. The show promises to be both distinctive and universally relatable, showcasing fresh storytelling and female-led productions, in line with Prime Video India’s strategy.
Director Nair describes “Dupahiya” as a celebration of humor, chaos, and the quirks of small-town life, while creators Joshi and Shivdasani highlight its focus on family, fun, and the universal dreams of everyday people.
The series is set to premiere in India and across 240+ countries and territories worldwide on March 7, adding to Prime Video India’s growing collection of originals such as “Paatal Lok,” “Mirzapur,” “Poacher,” and “Indian Police Force.”
