As the NFL offseason heats up, teams are faced with tough decisions on who to cut in order to create salary cap space. Every team, from the cap-rich New England Patriots to the cap-strapped New Orleans Saints, will need to make some tough calls in the coming months. Here’s a breakdown of potential salary cap casualties for all 32 teams, as reported by The Athletic’s NFL beat writers.

Starting with the Arizona Cardinals, safety Jalen Thompson could be a cap casualty. With a solid roster and $71.3 million in available cap space, cutting Thompson could save the team nearly $6.6 million. In Atlanta, defensive tackle David Onyemata is a candidate for release, as the Falcons look to get younger on the defensive line.

The Baltimore Ravens may part ways with safety Marcus Williams, who was benched for the final seven games of the season. In Buffalo, edge rusher Von Miller could be on the chopping block due to his high cap hit and reduced role in the defense.

The Carolina Panthers may move on from running back Miles Sanders, who saw his role diminish in 2023. In Chicago, tight end Gerald Everett could be cut due to his lack of production and high cap hit. The Cincinnati Bengals might release defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins, who underperformed last season.

The Cleveland Browns could save $3 million by cutting edge rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo. In Dallas, safety Donovan Wilson or Malik Hooker could be released to free up cap space. The Denver Broncos may look to part ways with linebacker Alex Singleton, who is coming off an ACL injury.

In Detroit, edge rusher Za’Darius Smith may be cut to save cap space. The Green Bay Packers could release cornerback Jaire Alexander, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons. The Houston Texans might move on from defensive tackle Denico Autry, who failed to meet expectations.

The Indianapolis Colts could cut ties with right tackle Braden Smith, who missed time due to personal reasons. In Jacksonville, wide receiver Christian Kirk could be released if the team needs cap space. The Kansas City Chiefs may part ways with wide receiver Skyy Moore, who has struggled to find a role in the offense.

The Las Vegas Raiders are likely to release quarterback Gardner Minshew, who struggled in his limited playing time. In Los Angeles, the Chargers could cut ties with edge rusher Joey Bosa, whose production has declined due to injuries. The Los Angeles Rams may trade or cut wide receiver Cooper Kupp to free up cap space.

The Miami Dolphins might release kicker Jason Sanders to create cap space. In Minnesota, guard Ed Ingram could be cut to save money. The New England Patriots could part ways with wide receiver Kendrick Bourne to save cap space.

The New Orleans Saints may release quarterback Derek Carr as they enter a new era under head coach Kellen Moore. The New York Giants could cut kicker Graham Gano to free up cap space. The New York Jets may move on from wide receiver Davante Adams, who came to New York to play with Aaron Rodgers.

The Philadelphia Eagles might release cornerback Darius Slay to save cap space. The Pittsburgh Steelers could cut defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi to create room on the defensive line. The San Francisco 49ers are expected to release defensive tackle Javon Hargrave due to injury concerns.

The Seattle Seahawks may release linebacker Dre’Mont Jones to save cap space. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could cut cornerback Jamel Dean to free up money. The Tennessee Titans might part ways with wide receiver Treylon Burks to rebuild their receiving corps.

Finally, the Washington Commanders could release defensive tackle Jonathan Allen to create cap space. With tough decisions ahead for every team, the NFL offseason promises to be full of surprises and roster changes as teams navigate the salary cap landscape.
