The highly anticipated Huawei Mate XT Ultimate has finally been announced for a global launch, and it promises to be one of the most innovative foldable phones on the market. Originally unveiled in China, Huawei has now confirmed that the Mate XT Ultimate will be available worldwide.
Unveiled at a special event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate boasts a unique tri-fold design, setting it apart from traditional foldable phones with its three screen elements. When fully extended, the device offers a spacious 10.2-inch AMOLED display, which can be folded into a more compact 6.4-inch smartphone form. Additionally, users have the option to use the Mate XT Ultimate with only two of the three screen elements extended, providing a familiar foldable experience akin to devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.
To achieve its tri-fold design, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate features two hinges and a remarkably slim 3.6mm body when folded. Despite its slim profile, the device still maintains a substantial 12.8mm thickness when closed, comparable to other dual-fold phones on the market. The Mate XT Ultimate is equipped with a robust camera system, including a 50MP main camera with PDAF, OIS, and a variable aperture, along with a 12MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide camera.
