Blake Lively recently filed an amended complaint against Justin Baldoni, responding to the backlash she faced after revealing that her husband played a significant role in changing a scene during a red carpet interview without the screenwriter’s approval. In the documents filed, Lively expressed her regret for causing any distress to the writer and acknowledged that she should have been more considerate in her public statements.
Lively admitted in an email to the screenwriter, Hall, that she never intended to say anything that could be used against her or anyone else. She explained that she was simply proud of her partner and grateful for his support. Lively emphasized that she believes both her husband’s contributions and the writer’s work were valuable and important in creating the final product.
During a press junket, Lively shared that her husband had secretly contributed to the film’s dialogue, specifically mentioning that he helped write a pivotal rooftop scene between the lead characters. However, Hall appeared surprised by this revelation, as she was unaware of the actor’s involvement in reworking the dialogue. Despite the misunderstanding, Hall graciously accepted Lively’s apology and did not take her comments personally.
In her amended complaint, Lively referred to Baldoni as a “creep” and alleged that he had pressured her to simulate a climax on camera for a scene. Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, dismissed Lively’s lawsuit, claiming that there was no new evidence to support her claims and that the suit was based on unsubstantiated hearsay.
The legal battle between Lively and Baldoni has escalated, with Baldoni countersuing Lively for defamation and filing a separate libel suit against the New York Times. Both parties are steadfast in their positions, and a trial date has been set for March 2026, with no plans for mediation. Despite the ongoing conflict, Lively and Baldoni remain committed to resolving their differences through the legal process.
