Real Madrid is reportedly contemplating leaving La Liga following a controversial incident involving playmaker Jude Bellingham in their recent game against Osasuna. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but the focus shifted to Bellingham’s red card. In the 39th minute, Bellingham was shown a straight red card after allegedly directing inappropriate language towards the referee. The player argued that his words were aimed at himself in frustration rather than at the official.

According to a report from Spanish outlet SPORT (via Daily Mail), Real Madrid is now considering joining another European league such as the Bundesliga, Serie A, or Ligue 1. The decision comes after the club expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating standards in Spain. In a strongly worded letter to the Spanish FA, Real Madrid criticized the refereeing system as “completely flawed.” The letter highlighted a recent incident where a dangerous tackle on Kylian Mbappe went unpunished, leading to a goal for the opposing team.

La Liga president Javier Tebas responded to Real Madrid’s letter by criticizing the club for not offering solutions during previous discussions about refereeing standards. Tebas mentioned that Real Madrid’s TV channel had been vocal against referees, advocating for a change similar to the English or German model for more transparency. Despite the controversy, Real Madrid is now shifting their focus to the UEFA Champions League, where they are set to face Manchester City in the playoffs.

As the club navigates through these challenging times, the football world waits to see if Real Madrid will indeed make the drastic move of leaving La Liga. Their potential departure could have significant implications for the league and European football as a whole. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
