In the wake of the tense Oval Office meeting between Vice President JD Vance, President Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, social media has been flooded with a wave of absurd edits featuring Vance. The meeting, which took place on February 28, garnered attention for Vance’s demanding behavior towards Zelensky, insisting that he thank the United States for its aid during the Russian invasion.

Users on platforms like X, Instagram, and others have taken Vance’s headshot and other appearances and transformed them into comical edits. These edits range from portraying Vance as a chubby little boy eager to lead the hallway line to more extreme versions that depict him as a behemoth mass of flesh with a Miley Cyrus-esque stare. While some edits turn him into a lip filler diva or a Minion, the majority focus on exaggerating his physical features in a humorous way.

Some have compared this trend to the “orange man bad” meme or the mockery of Trump’s small hands, suggesting that it’s a way to poke fun at Vance’s behavior. However, others argue that these edits are simply surface-level humor that fails to address the real issues at hand. While Vance and figures like Elon Musk may be easy targets for ridicule, it’s essential to move beyond fat-shaming, autism insults, and other forms of superficial humor.

Ultimately, these memes and the analysis of them reflect a shared desire for change and action in the face of powerful figures like Vance and Musk. While the humor may provide a temporary escape, it’s crucial to address the underlying issues and work towards meaningful change rather than simply resorting to jokes and memes.
