This spring, the White House is inviting visitors to explore its gardens and grounds on Saturday, April 5, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Sunday, April 6, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Guests will have the opportunity to wander through the picturesque South Lawn, as well as visit the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden, and the White House Kitchen Garden.

This event is free of charge, but all attendees, including small children, must obtain a ticket. The National Park Service will be distributing free, timed tickets at a tent outside the White House Visitor Center starting at 8:30 AM on the days of the tours. The White House Visitor Center is conveniently located at 1450 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20004.

Tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, with one ticket per person. It’s important to note that certain items are not permitted on the White House grounds. Prohibited items include aerosols, animals (except guide dogs), pointed objects, oversized backpacks, balloons, beverages, and more. The Secret Service reserves the right to restrict any other personal items as well.

However, visitors are allowed to bring strollers, wheelchairs, umbrellas (without metal tips), and cameras. Medical necessities such as wheelchairs, electric scooters, glucose tablets, and EpiPens are also permitted on the tour. Guests should inform Secret Service personnel upon arrival about any essential medical items they are carrying.

In case of inclement weather, the event may be canceled. Visitors can check the status of the event by calling the 24-hour information line at (202) 456-7041. For more details on what visitors need to access the White House campus, individuals can visit www.WhiteHouse.gov/Visit.
