Fraudulent Flyers Found in Jefferson County Park Restrooms
Authorities in Jefferson County are investigating after fake flyers were discovered in several park restrooms over the weekend. The flyers, which falsely claimed to be from the sheriff’s office, threatened “random genital inspections” starting next month.
Jacki Kelley, a spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, called the signs “utterly ridiculous” and confirmed that they were not legitimate.
The flyers stated that the supposed “inspections” would commence on April 21. Deputies have already removed copies of the signs from restrooms at Crown Hill Cemetery and Crown Hill Park, and are continuing to search for any additional postings.
Concerned residents have reported the flyers on social media, prompting the sheriff’s office to issue a statement denouncing the false claims. The agency made it clear that they would never be involved in such activities and vowed to take action against those responsible for the misleading flyers.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the flyers or their creators to contact investigators at 303-271-5612. Tipsters can choose to remain anonymous.
