Shoaib Malik, the former Pakistan cricket captain, recently shared insights into his relationship with his son Izhaan following his divorce from Indian tennis star Sania Mirza in January 2024. Despite their separation, the couple continues to co-parent their son, with Sania having primary custody while Shoaib visits Izhaan at least twice a month in Dubai.

During a recent appearance on a Pakistani Ramzan show, Shoaib revealed that his bond with Izhaan is more like a friendship. He mentioned, “The relationship with him is that of friendship. He calls me bro, and sometimes I also call him bro. I make sure to visit him twice a month in Dubai, and while I’m there, I personally drop him to school and pick him up.”

Moreover, Shoaib emphasized the strong connection he shares with his son, stating, “I have a very good bond with him. Every day we connect on a video call and discuss everything.” Despite their parents’ separation, it is evident that Shoaib and Izhaan maintain a close and loving relationship.

Shoaib Malik, although not currently playing international cricket for Pakistan, is actively participating in the National T20 Cup at the age of 43, where he captains the Sialkot Region team. With an impressive cricketing career behind him, Shoaib has represented Pakistan in 35 Tests, 287 ODIs, and 124 T20Is, showcasing his all-round skills with both bat and ball.

Furthermore, Shoaib has ventured into various T20 franchise leagues worldwide, amassing significant runs and wickets in his 552 T20 appearances. Notably, he also featured in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), showcasing his talent on a global platform.
