Bodycam footage obtained from the Waterbury Police Department captures Kimberly Sullivan, a suspected Connecticut child abuser, denying allegations that her stepson was confined in a storage closet in their home for 20 years.
The footage, obtained by Fox News Digital, shows one of Sullivan’s daughters arriving at the scene shortly after authorities responded on Feb. 17, when her 32-year-old stepson set fire to the house to escape captivity and abuse.
Sullivan’s daughter picked her up in a black Acura and waited nearby as firefighters extinguished the blaze and rescued Sullivan’s stepson from the home.
In the redacted footage, Sullivan, 56, explains to an officer her account of what happened after the fire started.
She claimed the fire started from a TV her stepson plugged in, and that she tried to enter the room but couldn’t due to the flames. She mentioned that her stepson eventually woke up and came out of the room.
Sullivan claimed that her son couldn’t escape the room due to the flames, but eventually managed to walk through them.
During the exchange, Sullivan denied that the door to his room was locked and stated that he had the freedom to leave whenever he wanted.
However, police allege that Sullivan was not truthful during the exchange.
She is currently out on bond and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

According to an arrest warrant, the victim, known as “Male Victim 1,” was held in a windowless storage closet for 20 years without access to basic necessities.
He was allowed limited food and water each day and was forced to dispose of waste using bottles and newspapers.
The victim weighed less than 70 pounds when found by first responders after the fire.
The stepson admitted to setting the fire intentionally to gain his freedom.
Additional footage shows a police officer instructing an individual to exit the home during the incident.
Police officers can be seen tending to the victim in the ambulance in a redacted portion of the footage, where it is mentioned that the victim hadn’t showered in a year.
Another video shows Sullivan in distress, requesting to retrieve her belongings from the burning house.
Prior footage shows the stepson being carried out of the home and into an ambulance.
Fox News Digital reached out to Sullivan’s attorney for comment.
