“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson’s battle with Alzheimer’s is not going well, according to his son Jase. In a recent episode of the “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast, Jase opened up about his father’s condition, stating that there’s no reason to sugarcoat the topic.
Late last year, Jase made the heartbreaking announcement that Phil had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and that the 78-year-old’s condition was rough. Since then, fans have been asking daily about Phil’s health.
“The No. 1 question I get everywhere I go is, ‘How’s your dad doing?'” Jase shared on the podcast. “Now, I’m just giving the blunt truth: I say, ‘Not good.'”
Despite trying to stay positive, Jase admitted that the situation is what it is at this point. In December, he revealed that doctors had also informed them that Phil is suffering from a blood disease that is causing additional complications, and it’s only getting worse.
Phil, who starred on the popular “Duck Dynasty” from 2012 to 2017 and founded the Duck Commander company, has been facing health challenges in recent years. The family is doing their best to cope with the difficult situation.
In January, it was announced that “Duck Dynasty” would be making a comeback after nearly 8 years, focusing on Willie and Korie Robertson and their now adult children. However, sources connected to the show have stated that Phil was never intended to be included, even if he were in good health. In 2014, he sparked controversy with homophobic and racist remarks in a GQ magazine interview, leading to a brief suspension.
