The Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art at Maine College of Art & Design (MECA&D), in collaboration with the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) at Maine College of Art & Design, is thrilled to announce the upcoming two-part thesis exhibition in honor of the MFA class of 2025.
This exhibition showcases the culmination of our graduate candidates’ journey through the Master of Fine Arts program at Maine College of Art & Design. It is a representation of their growth, creativity, and dedication to their craft.
The exhibition will be divided into two parts:
– April 18–26: Opening Reception on April 18 from 5–7pm, featuring artists Paige Friedman, Mark Ford, Jenna Girolamo, Isaac Kim, joce leo, Cynthia Nathan, Laura Oertel, Ana Rogers-Reed, and Ryan Swedenborg.
– May 8–17: Opening Reception on May 8 from 5–7pm, featuring artists Jordan Hanid Awan, Rachel Clark, Yessenia Gerace, Maxwell Hamblin-Compere, Carmen J. Hamilton, Maureen Hsu, Alice Stanne, and Jenna Van Buekenhout.
The exhibition will take place at the Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art & Design, located at 522 Congress Street, Portland, Maine. The ICA Gallery Hours are Wednesday–Sunday, 12–5pm.
The MFA Thesis Exhibitions for the Class of 2025 are a collection of interdisciplinary works that reflect the concerns and passions of the artists. Their pieces encompass ceramics, drawings, paintings, photographs, poems, prints, sculptures, sound and video installations, and textiles. Each artist brings a unique perspective and contribution to the exhibition, highlighting the cultural relevance and caliber of the program.
