President Donald Trump reaffirmed his support on Monday for the controversial plan to send U.S. citizens to a brutal prison in El Salvador, stating that he is fully in favor of the idea. During a meeting with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele in the Oval Office, a reporter raised the question of whether this plan would include U.S. citizens. Trump responded without hesitation, stating, “I’m all for it,” emphasizing that individuals who commit serious crimes should be held accountable, regardless of their nationality.

Trump’s proposal to deport people who engage in criminal activities, such as assaulting elderly individuals or vandalizing property, has sparked outrage and concern. The plan to potentially send U.S. citizens to El Salvador for prosecution has raised legal and ethical questions about the rule of law and human rights.

The discussion between Trump and Bukele about expanding detention facilities and cooperation in enforcing this plan was captured on a livestream, further highlighting the seriousness of the proposal. The harsh conditions in El Salvador’s prison system have been well-documented, with reports of human rights abuses and lack of due process.

This alarming exchange is not the first time the Trump administration has considered such drastic measures. Just last week, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt hinted at exploring legal avenues to deport U.S. citizens to El Salvador, sparking a debate on the limits of presidential power and the protection of individual rights.

The controversy surrounding this proposal underscores the need for a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to addressing crime and immigration issues. As the debate continues, it is crucial to uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and respect for human rights.
