In a recent encounter with CNN’s Kaitlin Collins, former President Trump made a bold assertion, claiming that CNN harbors a disdain for the United States. This sentiment resonates with many of his supporters, who perceive the network as consistently critical of Trump and his followers.

Upon returning to the studio, CNN anchor Dana Bash appeared visibly perturbed by Trump’s remarks and took a moment to address them, expressing her frustration.

As they say, the truth can be a bitter pill to swallow.

The Hill reported:

During a Monday press opportunity in the Oval Office with El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele, Trump was questioned about why the media fails to highlight the number of immigrants his administration has deported.

“Well, they get out … but the fake news,” Trump remarked, gesturing towards the assembled reporters. “CNN over there doesn’t want to put them out because they don’t like putting out good numbers … because I think they hate our country. It’s a shame, really.”

Following Trump’s comments, Bash felt compelled to refute the former President’s claims regarding her network.

“I just want to say for the record… CNN does not hate our country,” she asserted. “That should go without saying. I’ve been here for 32 years, and I recognize the rhetorical device he’s employing. That said, I want to focus on the news we’ve just received.”

Here’s the clip:

Some have countered Bash’s assertions with a video that they believe highlights a different narrative:

CNN’s reputation as a network perceived to harbor anti-American sentiments didn’t develop overnight; it is a culmination of years of contentious reporting and public perception.
