Is Donald Trump alienating the agricultural community?

Recent polling indicates that Trump’s support is plummeting, and now farmers in Maine are beginning to voice their discontent.

The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association is organizing a day of action in response to the federal funding freeze under Trump’s administration.

For further details, check out the event here:

This funding freeze represents just one of the many federal measures impacting farmers. Significant cuts to essential programs, coupled with the termination of key staff, have directly affected the agricultural sector. While some funds have recently been restored and certain positions temporarily reinstated, the immediate repercussions have already been damaging, with long-term effects yet to unfold.

We invite you to join us for this day of action, amplifying the voices of those farmers who have been adversely affected, as we gather outside the offices of Senators Collins and King in Augusta.

Notably, one farmer, Seth Kroeck from Crystal Spring Farm in Brunswick, is making a statement by driving his tractor all the way to Augusta—a trek of 3.5 hours—underscoring the critical nature of this issue and the determination of farmers to be heard.
