In a shocking turn of events, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony has been accused of fatally stabbing fellow student Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas. Following his release on a drastically reduced bond, he is now residing in a $900,000 rental home situated in a gated community, a curious development for someone recently embroiled in such serious allegations.

Originally held on a hefty $1 million bond, Anthony’s bail was slashed to $250,000 by Judge Angela Tucker, a Republican from Collin County, enabling his release under house arrest complete with an ankle monitor.

Furthermore, the Anthony family has disclosed plans to utilize a portion of the $400,000 raised through online donations—initially intended for legal defense—to purchase a new home and hire private security, citing alleged “racist threats” received in the aftermath of Metcalf’s death. This revelation was made public during the court hearing where Anthony’s bond was significantly reduced.

Reports now indicate that Anthony is living in a lavish $900,000 home within the upscale “Richwoods” gated community of Frisco, Texas, as noted by Daily Mail. The family is said to be renting this residence for approximately $3,500 a month, and three vehicles have been spotted in the driveway: a white Suburban, a black Acura, and an additional sedan.

A neighbor revealed that the family had recently acquired a new car, noting the paper tag on the license plate with an expiration date of June 4. The juxtaposition of this new vehicle against the backdrop of the family’s claims of financial hardship is certainly striking.

As of now, the fundraising efforts for Austin Metcalf’s family have reached $371,296, primarily through a GoFundMe page established by his father, Jeff Metcalf. Conversely, Karmelo Anthony’s family has reportedly garnered $446,740 through a GiveSendGo campaign, indicating that his family has received at least $75,000 more than Metcalf’s.

Tragically, Austin Metcalf lost his life in his twin brother’s arms after being stabbed in the chest at the track meet earlier this month. According to the arrest report, the confrontation began when Metcalf requested Anthony to move from under a tent set up by another school. What followed was an altercation in which Anthony allegedly brandished a knife and subsequently stabbed Metcalf directly in the heart.

Witnesses recount that Anthony fled the scene but later justified his actions with the claim, “He put his hands on me. I was protecting myself.” However, one glaring detail remains: Anthony arrived at a high school track meet armed with a knife.
