In a recent episode of intra-party conflict, veteran Democrat strategist James Carville has turned his ire towards DNC vice chair David Hogg. Carville, known for his forthright and often combative approach, is incensed by Hogg’s reported intentions to leverage DNC resources in a bid to challenge multiple incumbent Democrats. Hogg’s aim appears to be to usher in candidates that align more closely with the far-left faction of the party and escalate opposition to Donald Trump.
During a segment on NewsNation, Carville did not hold back, labeling Hogg a “contemptible little twerp” and even hinting at the possibility of legal action against him. This latest clash underscores the ongoing civil war within the Democratic Party, where the traditional establishment is at odds with the burgeoning influence of the radical left, often dubbed ‘Democratic Socialists’.

During his appearance, Carville criticized not only Hogg but also prominent progressives such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), asserting that they are more focused on undermining fellow Democrats than confronting Republicans.
He elaborated on the absurdity of Hogg’s position, questioning: “Why doesn’t somebody sue David Hogg? He’s an officer of the Democratic National Committee. He is the vice chairman of the DNC, and he’s running against other Democrats. I would like to know, and you went to law school, does he have a fiduciary duty to Democrats?” Carville’s analogy was sharp: “If I work for NewsNation, I can’t promote CNN. That’s if you worked for somebody else. You have a fiduciary duty to your employer, which anybody can understand. He’s being paid to run against other Democrats. I think it’s an outrage.”
