Chicago police have recently obtained surveillance video footage of a man who has been linked to a series of robberies and shootings in the North Lawndale neighborhood. The Chicago Police Department issued an alert last week regarding the crime pattern, and they have now updated their bulletin with video evidence of a suspect.
The first incident took place on February 20 in the 1500 block of South Spaulding. A couple was targeted by two robbers who brandished a handgun during a conversation. One of the robbers intervened in the discussion and shot the 36-year-old male victim in the foot while carrying out the robbery.
The newly released video footage captures the next robbery that occurred on April 4 in the 2700 block of West Harrison. In this incident, a lone gunman shot and robbed a 58-year-old man during a confrontation over the victim’s property. The video shows the suspect walking around the neighborhood while holding a beverage.
Just five days later, another shooting and robbery occurred in the 3800 block of West Harrison. A 56-year-old man was inside a vehicle when two robbers approached him, with one displaying a firearm. The victim refused to hand over money and attempted to drive away, but the gunman shot him in the neck, causing the victim to crash. He was left in critical condition following the attack.
The suspects are described as Black men between 20 and 35 years old, standing between 5’11” and 6’2″ tall, and weighing between 170 and 220 pounds. One of the suspects was seen wearing a black coat with a white reflective emblem, black sneakers with a white “swoosh,” and a partial face mask.
Area Five detectives are leading the investigations into these incidents and can be contacted at 312-746-8253 regarding crime pattern #25-4-011.

CWBChicago was established in 2013 by a group of residents from Wrigleyville and Boystown who were dissatisfied with the inaccurate information provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. While our coverage has expanded to include areas like Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side neighborhoods, our mission remains the same: to deliver original public safety reporting with more context and detail than mainstream media outlets.
