The summer transfer window in the Premier League may have closed, but some big-name players still have unresolved futures. While other transfer windows are still open, including in Turkey, where clubs can make deals until September 13, moves could still happen. With four months to go until the January window opens in major European leagues, The Athletic has put together a starting XI of players who currently find themselves out of favor at their top-flight clubs.

Goalkeeper: Odysseas Vlachodimos
Vlachodimos, who joined Newcastle United from Nottingham Forest, is currently out of favor under manager Eddie Howe. While he was free to leave on loan, a suitable deal did not materialize before the transfer deadline. He is currently behind Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka in the pecking order.

Left-back: Ben Chilwell
Chilwell, once a key player for Chelsea, now finds himself out of favor under manager Enzo Maresca. With the emergence of other options at left-back, Chilwell’s future at the club looks uncertain.

Center-back: Axel Disasi
Disasi, a summer signing from Monaco, made an immediate impact at Chelsea but has struggled to maintain a regular place in the team under Maresca. Despite featuring in some cup games, he is yet to play in the league this season.

Midfielder: Kacper Kiwior
Kiwior, who impressed as a squad player for Arsenal last season, now finds himself on the fringes under manager Mikel Arteta. With new signings and returning players vying for a spot in the team, Kiwior’s future at the club looks uncertain.

Right-back: Tariq Lamptey
Lamptey, despite his young age, has struggled to establish himself as a starter at Brighton. With the opportunity to impress under new head coach Fabian Hurzeler, Lamptey will be looking to secure a regular place in the team.

Midfielder: Goncalo Guedes
Guedes, who has struggled to establish himself at Wolves since joining from Valencia, finds himself on the fringes of the starting XI. Despite a good performance in the Carabao Cup, his future at the club remains uncertain.

Midfielder: Hamza Choudhury
Choudhury, who played a key role in Leicester City’s title-winning campaign last season, now finds himself out of favor at the club. With limited playing time, he will be looking to secure a move in the upcoming transfer window.

Midfielder: Christian Eriksen
Eriksen, once an important player for Manchester United, now finds himself on the fringes under manager Erik ten Hag. With reduced playing time, his future at the club looks uncertain.

Midfielder: Miguel Almiron
Almiron, who was linked with a move away from Newcastle in the summer, now finds himself on the fringes of the starting XI. Despite limited playing time, he will be looking to secure a regular place in the team.

Striker: Danny Ings
Ings, who was made available for transfer by West Ham United, is currently facing an uncertain future at the club. With limited playing time, he will be looking to secure a move in the upcoming transfer window.

These players, although talented, currently find themselves out of favor at their respective clubs. With the January transfer window approaching, they will be looking to secure moves to clubs where they can regain their form and establish themselves as key players once again.
