Influencer Evan Lee, known as EvanTube, and his family gained a significant following on YouTube and earned a substantial amount of money during their peak of fame. According to a report by The New York Times, early YouTube creators like the Lee family could make money through ad revenue and brand deals facilitated by networks like Maker Studios.
Jared Lee, Evan’s father, revealed that the family was earning between $1 million and $2 million annually at their height of popularity. Evan rose to fame in 2011 when a video created by his father featuring the Angry Birds game made out of modeling clay garnered 11 million views. Evan’s younger sister, Jillian, also started appearing in their videos.
Jared mentioned that some months, EvanTube grossed $100,000 from Google ads alone. By the time Evan was 9 in 2014, the channel had amassed 1 million subscribers. This success allowed the family to set up various financial accounts and make investments, including purchasing a $3 million home based on advice from their accountants.
Reflecting on his childhood, Evan acknowledged that without his parents’ involvement, the family wouldn’t have achieved the same level of success. He decided to pause EvanTube at the end of high school in 2024 to focus on his college education at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
In a farewell message to his viewers, Evan expressed gratitude for their support over the years and hinted at future projects. Despite stepping away from YouTube, he remains appreciative of the impact his channel had on viewers and looks forward to their continued support.
