A tragic incident of road rage on the Long Island Expressway resulted in the death of a motorcyclist at the hands of a 64-year-old man driving a Ford pick-up truck. The altercation took place on the LIE’s service road near New Hyde Park Road in Nassau County, where Brian Noll collided with a 29-year-old motorcyclist on a green Kawasaki bike, ultimately pinning him against a guardrail with his truck.

Noll, accompanied by a 66-year-old woman in the passenger seat, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder following the incident. Despite pleading not guilty, Noll’s lawyer claimed that the motorcyclist was driving recklessly and instigated the confrontation by attempting to damage the mirror of Noll’s truck in a fit of rage. The lawyer argued that the motorcyclist’s actions caused both vehicles to lose control, resulting in the tragic collision.

Described as a 64-year-old grandfather who had recently retired and moved upstate, Noll’s life was forever changed by the events of that day. The lawyer emphasized Noll’s ties to Long Island, where he had spent his entire life, and stated that he was returning to visit family when the confrontation occurred. The lawyer portrayed Noll as a victim of circumstances, caught up in a situation caused by the reckless behavior of the motorcyclist.

The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers of road rage and the devastating consequences it can have. As the legal proceedings unfold, the community mourns the loss of the motorcyclist and grapples with the aftermath of this senseless tragedy.
