Diddy is facing a partial victory in his ongoing legal battle against forced labor charges. The judge has ruled that prosecutors cannot argue forced labor pertaining to one of Diddy’s employees. However, the judge has also allowed prosecutors to present sex trafficking evidence against Diddy.
The feds are accusing Diddy of attempting to exclude evidence from his upcoming criminal trial as a tactic to delay the trial’s start date. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Diddy is seeking to exclude evidence related to sex trafficking charges and alleged “Freak Offs” on the grounds that prosecutors provided the evidence too late for him to adequately prepare his defense.
The feds argue that Diddy has been aware of the evidence they plan to present at trial for months and is simply trying to postpone the proceedings. They claim that Diddy is using the late submission of evidence as an excuse to stall the trial.
Despite Diddy’s claims that the feds are hindering his defense preparation by introducing new evidence and allegations as the trial approaches, prosecutors maintain that Diddy has had more than enough time to prepare for the trial and is deliberately stalling the proceedings.
In response, prosecutors have criticized Diddy’s request to exclude evidence as a desperate attempt to limit the scope of the charges against him and secure a trial postponement. They describe Diddy’s actions as a last-minute effort to avoid facing the full extent of the allegations against him.
As the trial date looms, prosecutors are pressing ahead with plans to introduce key pieces of evidence, including the infamous Cassie beating video. The individual who filmed the surveillance footage on an iPhone 6 is expected to testify at the trial, further implicating Diddy in the case.
Diddy has vehemently denied the allegations against him, asserting that he is a swinger and not a criminal. Despite his defense strategy, the legal battle continues to unfold as both sides prepare for the upcoming trial.
