A shocking incident unfolded on a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line train on Monday when a Chicago man, Rhanni S. Davis, allegedly shot and killed four passengers who were sleeping on the train. The victims, identified as Adrian Collins, 60, Simeon Bihesi, 28, and two others who remain unidentified, were tragically killed in the senseless attack.
The train had arrived at the Forest Park station when CTA workers discovered the horrific crime and notified the authorities. Three of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth victim was rushed to Loyola University Medical Center but tragically succumbed to their injuries.
After the shootings, Davis fled the scene but was apprehended by the police on the CTA’s Pink Line. During his arrest, a gun was recovered. Surveillance footage reportedly captured Davis walking through the train car and targeting the victims, who were seated separately. The fourth victim was in a different car at the time of the attack.
Davis, 30, has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder in connection with the incident. The CTA condemned the violence, stating, “This heinous and egregious act of violence should never have occurred, nonetheless on a public transit train.”
The community has been left in shock and mourning following this tragic event. The investigation into the motive behind the shootings continues as authorities work to bring justice for the victims and their families.
