Otago Regional Council Coastal Otago Biosecurity delivery lead, Simon Stevenson, mentioned that although rook numbers have decreased, there are still occasional sightings. Stevenson emphasized the importance of public assistance in targeting the remaining birds to prevent a potential population increase.
