An armed sexual assault suspect has been apprehended by Chicago police after he attacked a woman in Rogers Park late Thursday night. The incident took place in the 1800 block of West Lunt, where the victim was sexually assaulted at knifepoint in a gangway. Fortunately, the woman was able to alert authorities during a traffic stop in Evanston, leading to the swift apprehension of the suspect in the nearby 1800 block of West Greenleaf. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in good condition.

The modus operandi of the suspect in last night’s incident, including the use of a knife and riding a bike, bears similarities to the pattern of sexual assault and robberies that have been occurring in the area for several months. The suspect is described as a Black man aged between 23 and 35, standing 5’8” to 6’1” tall. He is known to wear a dark hoodie, dark pants, and dark shoes, often with a mask covering part of his face. Some victims have reported that the man may have face tattoos, and he is said to flee on a bike with fat tires.
