The Gujarat Titans have surged to the second spot in the IPL 2025 points table following a convincing victory over the SunRisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This win marked their fourth consecutive home win and propelled them from fourth to second place in the standings.
With 14 points now in their tally, the Titans are in a strong position with four league matches left to play. If they can secure victories in at least two of these remaining games, their spot in the next round of the competition looks promising.
On the flip side, the SunRisers Hyderabad’s hopes of making it to the Top 4 have taken a hit as they remain in ninth place with a dwindling net run rate. Their chances of progressing further in the tournament are diminishing as each match passes by.
The Gujarat Titans will now shift their focus to their upcoming clash against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on May 6. Meanwhile, the SunRisers Hyderabad will travel to Hyderabad for a face-off against the Delhi Capitals on May 5.
In another match to keep an eye on, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be aiming to reclaim the top spot in the IPL 2025 points table when they take on the Chennai Super Kings on May 3. Despite slipping to third place after the Titans’ victory, a win against CSK could see them soar back to the number one position.
While the Chennai Super Kings have already been eliminated from playoff contention, they will be eager to play spoilsport and avenge their previous defeat against RCB. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7.30 pm IST in Bengaluru.
