Early Saturday morning, two individuals fell victim to a robbery while sitting in their car in the Wicker Park neighborhood. The incident occurred in the 2000 block of West North Avenue around 4:28 a.m. According to initial reports, two men approached the vehicle from behind, both brandishing firearms. They proceeded to open the car doors and demand the victims to exit the vehicle.

During the confrontation, the robbers managed to obtain a wallet from one victim and a phone from the other before fleeing the scene in a white vehicle, which was believed to be a Hyundai. The suspects were described as Black men wearing black ski masks.

Following the ordeal, the victims drove to the Shakespeare (14th) District station in Logan Square to report the incident. Despite the recent decrease in robberies in the district, with a 39% drop compared to the previous year, incidents like these serve as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by residents in the area.
