The comedian and actress Ruth Buzzi, known for her role in Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, has passed away at the age of 88. She died peacefully at her home in Texas after battling Alzheimer’s disease. Buzzi had been in hospice care for several years.

Buzzi was famous for her award-winning performances on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, where she portrayed various characters, including the iconic Gladys Ormphby. Her expressive face and comedic talent made her a standout on the show, receiving accolades for her work.

Throughout her six-decade career, Buzzi received numerous accolades, including five Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe win. She appeared in a variety of TV shows and movies, showcasing her versatile talent and comedic timing.

Born in 1936 in Connecticut, Buzzi’s acting career began in the 1950s, leading her to national recognition on The Garry Moore Show in the 1960s. She continued to entertain audiences with her unique characters and performances.
