WASHINGTON (AP) — In a recent decision, the Supreme Court has granted permission for President Donald Trump’s administration to implement a ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, pending ongoing legal battles.

The ruling concerns a policy that automatically disqualifies transgender individuals from military service.

While the court’s three liberal justices opposed the decision to enforce the policy, it will remain in effect for now.

Shortly after commencing his second term, President Trump took swift action to limit the rights of transgender individuals. One of the measures implemented was an executive order stating that the gender identity of transgender service members is in conflict with military values and undermines military preparedness.
